I have known Leon for many years.   After moving to Cincinnati, he began helping me take care of my rental properties in Macomb.   He just did some work for me a few weeks ago.   I was stunned to see the obituary.   He was still very vibrant, a straight shooter, a very good craftsman, and a good man.   He recently put in a new door, a new basement entrance, and did some work on the facing of my garage.    I talked to him about all sorts of things, and enjoyed his candor and humor.    He was incredibly vibrant right up to his last day.   I share the grief of his family and know he is glad to reunite with his beloved wife.   He talked sweetly of her very frequently - he missed her so.

My deepest sympathy to all of Leon's family. I knew Leon when I lived in West Central Illinois from RP Lumber, West Side Lumber and would see him down at the Bernadotte Cafe. I had him install some door for me several years ago and nothing but quality work. So sorry to hear of his passing.

I first knew Leon when he worked at West Side Lumber.  I always sought his help as he was very knowledgeable about everything hardware related.  After he retired I depended on Leon as a Mr. Fixit for all kinds of things in my house, plumbing, electrical, etc.  Leon was dependable and a friend.  I will miss him.  Thoughts and prayers go to his family.

My thoughts and prayers are with Leon's family at this time.  I was fortunate enough to work with Leon when I managed a local apartment complex and Leon was part of the maintenance team.  He was not only a colleague but a friend.  I was saddened to hear about Leon's passing and hope that the family finds comfort in the good memories that they share.
