Lewistown- Evelyn R. Hines, 64, of Lewistown passed away at 6:57 PM Thursday July 5, 2018 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
She was born November 8, 1953 at Canton the daughter of Howard and Violet (Cameron) McBride. They preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her step father Penny Melvin, one sister, Cindy McBride, one brother, Willard McBride, three step sisters, Viola “Babe” Keen, Linda Melvin and Bonnie Caulkins and one step brother Jerry Melvin. Surviving are four brothers, Rick McBride of Lewistown, Terry (Ida) McBride of Bryant, Joe (Mary Jo) McBride of Longmont, CO; and Ron (Steve) Melvin of Nashville, TN; two sisters, Bertha (Chuck) Sneyd of Rochelle, and Pauline (Tim Clemens) Mahan of Ipava, seven step sisters, Ethel (DeWayne) Johnson of Ringgold, GA; Nancy (Larry) Coon of Elmwood, Shirley Taylor of Cuba, Marilyn (Dale) Henderson of Urbana, OH; Penny (Jim) Stambaugh of Cuba, Mary (George) O’Connell of Jacksonville, and Melissa West of Sierra Vista, AZ; two step brothers, Floyd (Becky) Melvin of Havana and Jim (Debbie) Melvin of Marietta, many nieces & nephews and many great nieces & nephews.
Evelyn worked as a CNA at numerous nursing homes around Fulton County for many years. She formerly served on the Spoon River Towers resident’s board. Evelyn enjoyed caring for others and she was always helping people. Evelyn enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family she was very fond of her nieces & nephews.
Cremation will be accorded. Interment will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lewistown at a later date. Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be made at henrylange.com.
