Cuba- Donald Howard Marshall, 93, of Cuba, passed away at 2:25 PM Friday November 2, 2012 at Heartland Health Care Center in Canton.
He was born July 17, 1919 at Cuba, the son of George Albert and Ada Olive (Powles) Marshall. He married Violet L. Smith on October 28, 1942 at Quincy. She preceded him in death on July 9, 2010. He was also preceded in death by his parents, 5 brothers, and 1 sister. Surviving are 2 sons, Larry Donald (Barbara) Marshall of Canton, Bruce Alan (Theresa) Marshall of Morton, 2 daughters, Linda Lou Woods of Canton, and Janet Kay (Charles) Werry of Canton, 9 grandchildren, Lisa Stockham, Angela Cogelja, Jeffrey Marshall, Heather Widger, John Werry, Laura Myers, James Werry, Andrew Marshall, Jennifer McMillan, and 9 great grandchildren.
Don was an Illinois licensed plumber. He owned and operated Marshall Tin Shop which then became Marshall Plumbing & Heating from 1947-1982 and had also owned Marshall Furniture & Appliance both of Cuba. He was a WW 2 Army veteran and was a member of Cuba American Legion Russell Smith Post 533. He was a member of the Cuba United Methodist Church of which he was one of the two oldest members, and a member of the Cuba Business Association. He enjoyed gardening and photography.
Services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday November 7, 2012 at Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Cuba with Reverend Kenneth Harris officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Cuba Cemetery with military rites conducted by the Cuba American Legion Post. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cuba United Methodist Church or the Cass-Putman Rescue Squad.
